Event Description:
The Centre for Workforce Development continues to investigate and research trends regarding the local labour force through a variety of partnerships, surveys and round table discussions. The Chamber actively supports their initiatives because we know how your labour needs are a key part of the information they need to gather and share.
Join us at our March 25 breakfast for the release of their latest report and some preliminary data on a survey we’re sending out on what we call “The Hidden Job Market”. Public perception leads us to believe most employment opportunities are at an entry level wage/position; we hope this survey will uncover a much more dynamic and diversified job market than that – emphasizing professional growth opportunities in a variety of sectors – and one potential outcome will be to changing the conversation with our youth by sharing positive reasons to seek local post-secondary education and/or come back when they are done.
