Arts en Plein Air 2017 Competition and Festival

The Quinte Arts Council’s Arts en Plein Air 2017 Competition and Festival in Belleville and Quinte region will celebrate outdoor painting September 7 to 10. The cash prizes will be: 1st, $2000; 2nd, $1500; 3rd, $750 for the painting competition. Other special prizes are: Downtown Belleville, $1000; and Art in Chaos/the beauty of construction, $500. Groups of students will be painting on Thursday and a student competition will be held in downtown Belleville on Saturday (2 prizes: $500 and $200). To see the competition locations, go to quinteartscouncil.org. The fee is $40 for members of the QAC or the Ontario Plein Air Society, $50 for non-members, and $25 for students. Work from the festival will be on display at the Parrott Gallery, Belleville Library, September 11 to 21.
